OrbsGo Luggage Scale Review — A Modern And Fun Design

If you want a luggage scale with a modern aesthetic, the Orbsgo scale could be for you. It has a sleek design and comes in some cool colors. That said, operating this scale can be a little confusing, but once you figure it out it’s a pretty good scale.

WHO MAKES IT

OrbsGo is a travel accessories company that operates under WithPurpose, an umbrella company for a variety of lifestyle brands. For now, it looks like the luggage scale is OrbsGo’s only product.

KEY FEATURES

PROS

CONS

The Orbsgo scale offers four different measurement units (kilograms, grams, pounds, and ounces), unlike the standard two. Switching between units is confusing, though. Once you turn on the scale, you have to press the button immediately to switch. The scale will settle on the default unit after 2-3 seconds, so you have to act fast. Otherwise, you have to turn it off and start over. Not a big deal, but this could be annoying if you’re in a time crunch.

If you want a cool looking scale, this one’s definitely one of the sleekest out there (although I like the Etekcity and Dunheger as well). It’s slimmer than other scales, and you can get it in a cool sterling silver or a variety of colors (green, orange, black, or white). Since it’s small and compact, it’ll easily fit into your carry-on if you want to take it with you.

Although it comes with a lithium disk battery, you do have to install it yourself. It’s pretty intuitive and does come with instructions, but it is a little hard to get it in there.

HOW TO USE

With only one button, it’s pretty easy to use. After turning it on and setting it to your desired unit, you just wrap the strap around the handle of your luggage and lift up horizontally. The reading will appear on an easy to read blue-lit screen. Unlike other scales, it doesn’t beep when it’s done taking the reading, so you just have to wait until it settles on a number. As far as accuracy goes, there was only a slight variation of about 0.1 kg over several readings, so it seems to be pretty precise.

Overall

Overall, this is definitely one of the cooler looking scales out there, and seems to give an accurate reading. Confusing instructions aside, it’s a stylish and handy scale.
